About National Information Technologies JSC
National Information Technologies Joint-stock Company (hereinafter referred to as Company)
was founded pursuant to Resolution by Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 492 of April 4, 2000 “On Development of Single Information Space in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Establishment of ‘National Information Technologies’ Closed Joint-Stock Company”. The Government, with its Resolution № 44 of January 16, 2004, assigned the Company the status of National Operator for Informatization.
In accordance with the Decree by Kazakhstan Association of IT Companies № 8-04-09-А of April 20, 2009, the Company was accredited as Registrar of .KZ top level domain.Also, NIT JSC was entitled to provide official registration and support to domain names of government agencies and institutions, as well as to those domain names which need to be registered and supported with a view to implementation of government agencies’ projects.
The Company’s basic objective as Registrar is
- registering and supporting domain names for government agencies, institutions and projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Company’s basic task as Registrar
- structuring the domains for government agencies, institutions and projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as efficient run of government agencies’ websites, according to Order by Chairman of Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization & Communication № 239-п of May 31, 2007 “On Approval of Methodology for Assessment of Government Agencies’ Websites”.
In conformity with the tasks assigned to Company as Registrar, with a view to the need to develop information technology in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and for the purpose of unification and compatibility of the information systems created, and of information security, it is planned to increase the Company’s role as National Operator and Coordinator of integration of public information resources. Alongside with that, the Company does not intend to compete with private companies in the information service provision market but rather is going to focus on representing a customer, i.e. government agencies, when building up and operating national informational infrstructure.
